Commissions
From a single word that holds meaning to a client, to the expression of complex ideologies, the challenge of producing bespoke works from kernels of ideas or grand visions can be a fascinating and rewarding partnership between client and artist.
Working hand in hand with customers, Bourdon Brindille has helped to allow their imaginations, fancies, reveries and the things they hold dear, to fly away and to become a real-dream, a solid tangible fantasy. Pieces, both two and three dimensional, have been made to order for clients ranging from embassies to Individuals both nationally and internationally. Why not allow Bourdon to enter your minds eye… |
The Body Is The Spirit Is
A commissioned piece telling the story of the cyclic nature of nature, this is another tale of reincarnation and rebirth, an ode to Everythingness and cycles. A chiseled, odd, Yin Yang, where the golden sap runs through the crisp bark shell and where the brittle bark skin runs through the syrupy resin and where the dry covering runs through the slick inner fluid and where the…ad infinitum. This is, I am, We are, forever connected and cyclical. There is no duality here, there just is…is. Diameter 26cm Height 19cm |

Oak Carving 29x 14cm |
This piece was one of a commission to produce three pieces in support of homelessness charities. With this I chose to focus on a, unfortunately, ubiquitous symbol of poverty and homelessness, the cardboard sign. I wished to produce something of value from what is a 'worthless' signifier (battered cardboard) and keep it as clean and as simple as I could, just choosing to carve from oak this symbol as faithfully as possible. I feel this is one of the best pieces of work I have ever had the pleasure to produce.

Theatre Commissions
I have had the absolute pleasure of working with the always incredible @volcanotheatreuk for a number of years now and have loved the constant plethera of strange and unusual projects that come up.... Constantly! Among them have been a William Morris-esque wallpaper with a nod to a certain drinks brand and vaginas... as you do. This is not even mentioning building a theatre in a theatre, heaven, hell, audience swings over horse manure and.... well use your imagination... crazy tings.

As an on-going project Anna Redfern owner of Cinema & Co (a unique indie film house, live venue and gallery space based in the centre of Swansea) commissions artists to re-interpret the house logo. This was my nod to both Anna and the Cinema...

Working with Tabernacle for a number of years producing many of their posters, programs and website has been a great pleasure. Tabernacle Morriston Choir was formed in 1876 and is one of the longest established mixed choirs still performing in Wales. The choir rehearses and performs at the largest chapel in Wales, the famous Tabernacle Chapel in Morriston, often called the Cathedral of Welsh Non- Conformity. www.tabernaclechoir.org.uk

A simple instruction sheet adhering to the ecological credentials of the Lavender Project. Commissioned by Clare, owner of the Lavender Project, to produce a simple, clean and sustainable instruction sheet for her great terrarium kits was again a lovely job. Knowing that my designs would be printed as ethically and as sustainably as was possible really guided the look of this sheet. You can check out her Eco crafting shop here (Lavender Project) which helps fund her Eco educational project in The Brecon Beacons. |
