The catkins knap-sack slap
cracks and whips and buoys
crisply against the dry wood bone finger of tree.
Lolling exposed, purposefully window framed, and ready.
With come-here cajole, it whispers and scrapes,
lulling and hustling and whoring its new seed.
Ready to drop,
to its knees,
and to begin again, underneath.
To bed below and find damp natural womb
To grow complete
and complete its natural, complete circle.
And to whither when its catkin kin
Climb and crisply buoy,
upon its own parents shoulder
to crack and whip and slap themselves.
Grown to whore and come of age and ready
To begin again, themselves, underneath.
